Medical

The term "validation" plays an important role in the manufacturing of medical products. Thereby it is notable that many manufacturers go their own way in order to ensure the procedures during the manufacturing process.
The expenses for this validation are partially tremendous and exceed the investment in suitable quality systems by far.

All the more astonishing is the fact that in many cases not the process is being validated - and therefore the quality of the molded parts as the final product -  but the machine and the mold.

Constant machine settings however will not necessarily lead to consistent part quality.

For this reason more and more often control systems are implemented which actually compensate for the variations in the process.

Examples:

Automatic hotrunner balancing of multi cavity molds
Automatic valve gate control of LSR molds
